Museum To Open Newest Exhibit

The National Civil War Museum, 1 Lincoln Circle at Reservoir Park, Harrisburg, will feature a new exhibit titled "More Deadly than Bullets - Illness and Disease in the Civil War." The exhibit will examine how and why illness and disease killed more men in the field than bullets. The exhibit will be open through Sunday, March 14, 2010.

"More Deadly than Bullets" will focus on answering key questions, such as why so many soldiers became sick and died; what was done to address the problem; and what types of illnesses and diseases were prevalent and how were they treated, if at all. Lastly, the exhibit will also discuss the role of the Civil War surgeons and doctors, as well as male and female nurses.
