Small Business Seminar Planned
A seminar on “How to Start and Operate a Small Business” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Chester County Library, 450 Exton Square Parkway, Exton. The seminar will be presented by the Small Business Assistance Center (SBAC) and Kutztown University’s Small Business Development Center and is co-sponsored by the Chester County Chapter of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives). It is designed for those either considering a business startup or currently operating a small business. The seminar is designed to familiarize entrepreneurs with the concepts and terminology needed in the startup and daily operation of a small business. Topics will include selecting a business structure, fictitious name registration, the use of a business plan, liability insurance, how to obtain financing, accounting systems, tax liability, and IRS rules and penalties. There is a course material fee for all attendants, and the number of participants is limited to 50.
