Girls Chosen To Be In Parade

Five Oxford Golden Bears cheerleaders will participate in the 2009 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will be televised live in the Philadelphia area and syndicated nationwide.

Performing in the parade with the Universal Cheerleaders Association's (UCA) All-American Cheerleaders will be seventh-graders Kristen Henry and Courtney Brown and sixth-graders Kayla McKee, Mary Thomas and Mackenzie Smith.

The girls are among the more than 500 junior high and high school cheerleaders and dancers from the Midwest to the Northeast Coast selected to perform with the UCA in the 89th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, the oldest in the nation. It will take place Thursday, Nov. 26.
