Nichols Will Speak At EBIC

Steven J. Nichols, professor of theology and church history, will present "To Whom Shall We Go?" at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church (EBIC), 996 E. High St., on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 8:30 and 11 a.m. EBIC and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship will co-host Nichols' visit.

At 10:05 a.m., Nichols will highlight how cultural sightings of Jesus both hinder and help the Gospel, as well as people’s understanding of Jesus. This material will be drawn from his InterVarsity Press book "Jesus Made in America: A Cultural History from the Puritans to the Passion of the Christ."

As part of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship's Emerging Scholars Network in Central Pennsylvania, Nichols will also speak on "Jesus for the Academy: Freeing Christ from Our Agendas" at a luncheon. More information on the Emerging Scholars Network is available at www.emergingscholars.org/. For information on Nichols' visit, readers may contact EBIC at 367-2651.
