Children’s Fall Festival Slated

On Saturday, Oct. 24, the first Community Children’s Fall Festival will be held at the Stewartstown United Methodist Church on Main Street from noon to 3 p.m. The festival will take place in the parking lot behind the church. If the weather is poor, the festival will be held inside the church in Fellowship Hall.

Admission will be granted for one nonperishable food item per child. Parents are expected to accompany their children while they enjoy the festival.

A costume contest and parade will be held at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative, most beautiful, and funniest costumes in three age groups: age 4 and under, ages 5 through 8, and age 9 and up. Costumes should not include gore, violence, horror, or satanic themes.

The festival will also feature games, face painting, pumpkin decorating, and crafts at no cost. Refreshments will be available. A special contest for parents will also be part of the day. Complimentary bags of treats will be provided to all children in grades six and under. Church cookbooks will be available for purchase.
