Mount Calvary Sets Conference
Mount Calvary Church of Elizabethtown, 625 Holly St., will hold its 66th annual World Missionary Conference from Friday, Oct. 16, through Sunday, Oct. 18. The keynote speaker will be Dr. George W. Murray, chancellor of Columbia International University (CIU), Columbia, S.C. Named as chancellor in 2007, Murray was formerly president of the university from 2000-07. He was also the executive director for the The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) and the general director of Bible Christian Union for 10 years prior to its merger with TEAM. He and his wife were church planters in Italy for 13 years. A graduate of CIU, Murray is an experienced missionary, teacher/preacher, writer, and evangelist who has ministered in 72 countries throughout the world. He will speak at 7 p.m. on Friday; at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17; and at 10:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Sunday. Missionaries who will take part in the services include Larry and Fay Buckman, serving in Central and South America; Howard and Marcia Davidson, serving with Biblical Ministries Worldwide in Scotland; David Fath, serving with ABWE in Romania; Max and Louise Lanz, serving with Baptist Mid-Missions in Brazil; Tim and Connie Lewis, serving at Joy Ranch in Virginia; and Alan and Sheri Penman, serving with Campus Crusade for Christ in Florida.
