Kyle Hoffsmith was named the Harrisburg Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award recipient. He is the son of Tim and Belinda Hoffsmith. Kyle’s winning essay was titled “Our American Heritage and My Responsibility for Preserving It.” He attends Millersville University. The DAR Good Citizen program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The local DAR chapter also handed flags to new citizens on Sept. 15 at the federal courthouse and will do so again on Monday, Nov. 23, at the Dauphin County Courthouse.
