The marriage of Ashley Shearer and Michael Arndt took place on Aug. 1 at Christ United Methodist Church, Jacobus. Pastor Randy Hughes officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Gary and Sharon Shearer of York. She graduated from Dallastown Area High School in 2003 and from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 2007. She is employed by Wayne Presbyterian Nursery School, Wayne. The groom is the son of Penny Arndt of Exton. He graduated from Henderson High School in 2001 and from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 2006. He is employed by West Chester Area School District. The maid of honor was Jennifer Hoover. Bridesmaids were Katie Koller and Mallori Gillespie. Serving as best man was John Shanahan. Groomsmen were Jeremy Clarke and Richard Blewitt. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The reception was held at Springwood Golf Club, York. After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Exton.
