Retiree Reunion Set For Reading

Manor at Market Square in Reading will hold a Downtown Reading Employee Reunion on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. at the manor, an assisted living community at 803 Penn St.

Retirees who worked for the former Pomeroy’s, Whitner’s or Kresge’s department stores in Reading are invited, along with their spouses. The event will recall the time when Penn Street was a bustling shopper’s destination from City Park to the Penn Street Bridge. Attendees may bring photos and other memorabilia. Seating is limited. Those interested in attending should call 610-373-0800 by Tuesday, Oct. 20, to register.
