Art, Soul Cafe Posts Schedule
Art and Soul Cafe offers free live music and art exhibits weekly. Art and Soul Cafe is located in the lower level rear of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 100 W. Main St., Mountville. Doors open to public every Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. For more information, readers may call 285-5020. The upcoming schedule of musical entertainment includes open microphone night on Nov. 7; 3 Axe Play, an original soft rock and folk band, on Nov. 14; and Aaron Smith, a rock/indie artist, on Nov. 21. There will be no Art and Soul Cafe program on Nov. 28 due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. On Dec. 5, Wing and a Prayer, an indie group, will perform. Art and Soul Cafe will feature the art exhibit "Comfort and Joy" by the Rev. Dr. Lauren Lay of Baltimore from Nov. 7 through Dec. 20. Lay is a clergy-artist serving as an elder in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. She received her Doctor of Ministry in arts and theology in 2009. Her artworks include mixed media, textiles (particularly bead embroidery), and acrylic painting. “Comfort and Joy” will be Lay’s first solo show.
