Church Plans To Honor Veterans

Marticville United Methodist Church, 641 Marticville Road, Pequea, will honor all military personnel at a special service during the 10:30 a.m. worship time on Sunday, Nov. 8, in accordance with the national celebration of Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Featured will be guest speaker John Rineer of Pequea, a retired U.S. Army veteran, as well as special music. The church will also rededicate the World War II plaque that stands in front of the building. The plaque lists the names of WWII veterans from the church and surrounding community.

During the Sunday school hour, participants will begin a study of the book "One Month to Live" by Kerry and Chris Shook. The study will be preceded by a light breakfast.

On Sunday, Dec. 6, the church will host an open house with tours of the building. A light breakfast will be served from 10 to 10:30 a.m., at which time all will be invited to attend worship. For more information, readers may call the church at 284-4865.
