Memoir-Writing Workshop Set
Author Lori Jakiela will conduct a memoir-writing workshop at the Kaltreider-Benfer Library, 147 S. Charles St., Red Lion, on Thursday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m. “Writing From Your Own Experience” will be free and open to the public, and will teach participants how to turn their memories into memoirs. Preregistration is requested.
Jakiela, a native of Western Pennsylvania, is the director of the writing program at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. In addition to teaching, Jakiela is an acclaimed writer of fiction and nonfiction works. Her book, “Miss New York Has Everything,” was published in 2006, and her poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications.
