Martin Library Sets Schedule

Martin Library, 159 E. Market St., York, has set its schedule for May. Readers may contact the library at 846‑5300. Readers should register for the library’s free children’s programs by visiting www.yorklibraries.org or by calling 846‑5300, ext. 242.

The bilingual story time program “Tiempo Preescolar” will be held on Friday, May 16, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Registration has already begun for the program. Children ages 3 to 5 who are accompanied by an adult are invited to attend the program, which will feature stories, songs, games, and crafts.

The Terrific Twos story time program will be held on Monday, May 12, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. The program is designed for 2‑year-olds and an accompanying adult. Participants may enjoy stories, songs, games, finger plays, and crafts with Miss Lisa. 

Family Place, which gives families with children from birth to age 3 the opportunity to play, share, and learn together using toys, books, music, simple art activities, and games, will be held on Wednesdays, May 7 and 14, and Thursday, May 8. A play group program for parents and children who have completed the parent and child workshop will continue on Wednesdays through May 28 from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. The program will also be held on Thursdays through May 29 from 10 to 11:15 a.m. For more information on the play group, readers may request a brochure at the library.

The Crafty Friday program will offer participants the opportunity to make foam frog pins on Friday, May 16, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The program will be for children ages 6 through 12, and children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Super Saturday, a family craft and activity program presented for elementary age children and their parents, will be held on Saturday, May 17, from 10 to 11 a.m. 

A Bedtime Story Time program will be held on Monday, May 19, from 7 to 7:30 p.m. for children ages 2 to 7. Participants should come dressed in their pajamas. Miss Lisa will read bedtime stories.

The Born to Read story time program will continue on Mondays through May 19 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Babies ages 12 to 23 months old and an accompanying adult are welcome to join Miss Lisa for stories, songs, games and finger plays.

A preschool story time program will continue on Tuesdays through May 20 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 and an accompanying adult are invited to join Miss Lisa for stories, songs, games, and crafts.

The Junior Book Discussion group will meet on Wednesday, May 14, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to discuss “Matilda.”

The Read, Feed, and Fun program will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14. The group will discuss “Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean,” and new members are welcome to attend.

 Sports Night, a program for children ages 8 through 12, will be held on Thursday, May 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Participants may enjoy friendly competition and snacks during the 90-minute program.
