YWCA To Host Summer Camps
The YWCA’s Camp Cann-Edi-On will begin during the second week in June, with 11 exciting theme weeks focusing on everything from nature and aquatics to creativity and cultures. The camp is located in York Haven on 227 acres, including many wooded areas, hiking trails, access to the Conewago Creek, a swimming pool, sports fields, and a recreation hall.
A team of staff will run daily activities for the campers based on the weekly themes. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack will be provided. Open to youths ages 7 to 13, traditional camp activities like hiking, swimming, canoeing, and biking will be available to campers. Monthly family nights will allow the campers to share their experiences.
Interested families should attend one of the registration sessions at the YWCA of York, 320 E. Market St., York, on Mondays, May 12 or June 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. In order to register, the child’s parent or guardian will need to provide their employer’s name, address, and phone number; emergency contacts with addresses and phone numbers; insurance information, including policy number; physician’s name and phone number; and weeks the child will attend.
There is a weekly tuition fee. If the child enrolls for nine or more weeks, tuition will be discounted. There is also an enrollment fee to individuals who are not current YWCA program participants.
