Gardens Will Treat Mothers

Hershey Gardens, 170 Hotel Road, has announced that its tradition of free admission for all mothers on Mother’s Day will continue on Sunday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. While strolling the 23-acre grounds of Hershey Gardens, as well as the Children’s Garden, Mother’s Day visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy springtime displays of azaleas, lilacs, rhododendrons, and tree peonies. Beginning at 11 a.m., guests may purchase a filled picnic basket and enjoy a picnic lunch in the gardens. A menu of items is available at http://hersheygardens.org.

New for the year, the annual Rhododendron Festival of the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will feature a flower show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show will begin on the day before Mother’s Day, Saturday, May 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. Rhododendrons will be available for purchase in the parking lot near the gift shop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both May 10 and 11.

Hershey Gardens is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended hours for June through August are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. An admission fee will be charged. Seniors age 62 and older, as well as children ages 3 to 12, will receive a discount. Children under age 3 will be admitted free.
