Cassidy Earns Eagle Award

Boy Scout Troop 53 of Maytown member Patrick Cassidy has received his Eagle Scout Award. The sophomore at Lancaster Catholic High School is the son of Mike and Jean Cassidy, 104 E. High St., Maytown.

His Eagle Court of Honor ceremony was held at Donegal Presbyterian Church, Mount Joy, with about 50 Boy Scouts, family members and friends in attendance.

He has been an active member of Troop 53 since 2003. His Eagle project involved landscaping and repairing the exterior of the American Legion Post Home in Maytown. He also planned the restoration of the monument and flagpole in the front of the building.

Patrick has served Troop 53 as a patrol leader, troop guide, and assistant senior patrol leader. At Lancaster Catholic, he is a distinguished honor roll student and a member of the marching band.
