Classes On Computers Set

The Village Library of Morgantown, 207 N. Walnut St., will hold a series of beginner computer classes from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays, beginning on May 15. The classes will teach attendees about setting up and using an online e-mail account, searching the Internet, and using the library’s online catalog system.

Each class will explore a different topic. On May 15, attendees will learn how to set up and use an online e-mail account. On May 22, students will learn how to search the Internet. On May 29, attendees will learn how to use the library catalog to place holds, manage reading lists, and more. On June 19, students will learn how to use a word processing program. On June 26, attendees will learn how to build a slide presentation.

Each class will consist of some instruction, but most of the time will be used for hands-on practice. Participants should know how to use a mouse, possess basic typing skills, and understand basic computer functions, such as filling in blanks and using the delete key.

Future classes will cover other software applications, additional Internet work, and library-friendly applications.

A fee will be charged for each class, and registration is required. Interested individuals are encouraged to register quickly, as class size is limited. For more information and registration, readers may call the library at (610) 286-1022.
