Nominations Are Sought
The Chester County Economic Development Council and the Chester County Stadium Project Task Force are seeking nominations for sites for the proposed stadium. The taskforce is exploring the possibility of constructing a regional 4,000- to 5,000-seat, multi-purpose, family-oriented recreational venue that would be the home of a minor-league baseball team.
The taskforce is asking for input from the entire Chester County community in identifying prospective stadium sites. A minimum of 13 to 16 acres of gross useable land is required. Private landowners, developers, or municipalities with available acreage who are interested in the project may visit the Stadium Site Nominations link at www.cceconomicdevelopment.com/stadium-nomination.html. The Web site contains preliminary criteria that will be used to evaluate potential sites. All nominations are due on or before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27.
An interested group of civic, business, and sports professionals led by West Chester mayor Dick Yoder has been meeting since the beginning of the year at the Economic Development Council.
