School Board Posts Minutes

The Twin Valley School Board held its regular meeting on April 21 in the Twin Valley School District administrative conference room. The board has posted its minutes from the meeting.

At the meeting, the board voted to approve the proposed Berks Career and Technology Center Budget for 2008. The proposed budget of $13,982,253 represents a 3.84 percent increase over last year’s budget, with the average member district’s share projected to increase by 4.83 percent. Twin Valley’s net portion of the budget is $315,983.

The board voted to approve a number of items, including the resolution between Twin Valley School District and the American Legion Baseball League relating to signage on the baseball field; revisions to the 2007-08 student calendar to reflect snow makeup days; acceptance of service for two properties located on Golf Course Road and Cocalico Road to be included at a judicial tax sale; and recommendations from the evaluation committee, including a revised classroom observation form and a goal-setting process as part of the year-end evaluation for professional staff.

The board also voted to approve Change Order 05-015 in the amount of $6,576 to relocate telephones and an intercom at the middle school; Change Order 02-035 in the amount of a credit of $3,000 for a composite aluminum panel at the middle school (a previously ordered panel was discontinued, resulting in the credit amount); Change Order 02-028 in the amount of $17,761 to furnish a through wall and roof-flashing at the middle school; Change Order 01-071 in the amount of $12,409 to provide additional landscaping for grading, seeding, fertilizing, and erosion matting on the hillside at Twin Valley High School; and the payment of $4,000 to an excavating company to install a required drainpipe diffuser at the Twin Valley High School’s physical education building.
