Mother’s Day Tea Planned

Readers will have the opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, in a special way by enjoying teatime and strolling amidst gardens of Welkinweir Arboretum, 1368 Prizer Road, Pottstown, the home of Green Valleys Association. Two time slots are available. The first will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. The second will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.  

At the event, attendees may walk down Azalea Lane to see the azalea collection or join a guided tour of the garden paths. A selection of tea sandwiches, scones, jams, teacakes, and berries will be served from the estate house dining room. Attendees may enjoy tea on the terrace while listening to musical entertainment and taking in views of the lake, budding trees, and blooming bulbs.

The event is expected to fill quickly. Advance registration is required. A per-person fee will be charged. Children under age 12 will be admitted free. Two common credit cards will be accepted.
