Tel Hai Plans Open House
Residents and staff of the Tel Hai Retirement Community, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, invite the public to attend a day of fellowship and informational tours on Saturday, May 10. The second annual "A Day in the Country" spring open house will include a variety of activities and information about the Tel Hai lifestyle. Festivities will take place from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
Guests are asked to park in the designated area and enjoy an antique car ride to the Garrett Community Center, which will serve as the welcome center for the event. After registering and picking up a program that includes a map of the campus, visitors may explore the community at their own pace. Barbecue sandwiches will be available for purchase from noon until 1:30 p.m. on the Tel Haven patio off the Tel Hai Circle.
Activities will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a hobby display and pie auction featuring homemade desserts provided by local churches, residents, and staff members of Tel Hai. The event will also feature a juried weaver at work, a Nintendo Wii demonstration, quilters in the Hertzler building, and the NetWits water volleyball team competing in the pool. Tours of several cottage and apartment homes will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Select Lakeview Assisted Living residences will also be open for tours. The event will conclude with a line dancing performance by Tel Hai residents.
