Park Plans Nordic Walk

Warwick County Park, Routes 100 and 23, Knauertown, will host Nordic Walking on Saturday, May 10. The Nature of Things Program will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. A four-part series will also run on Saturdays, May 17 through June 7.

Nordic walking uses specially designed poles to activate both the upper and lower body, increasing the effectiveness of a walking program by as much as 46 percent. The program is designed for participants who are at least 12 years of age and who are at least four feet, nine inches tall.

There is a fee for the pole rental. When registering, participants should note their height on the form to ensure correct pole size. The program is limited to 10 participants. To register, readers may visit www.chesco.org/ccparks or call (610) 469-1916.
