History Group Posts Meetings
The Honey Brook Historical Society has announced a number of upcoming meetings. All meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at the Honey Brook Borough Hall Annex Building, 91 Pequea Ave., at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Residents are invited to come out and learn about history and share the stories of Honey Brook's past.
Edward and Faye Max will bring stories and history of the Civil War to life at a meeting on May 27. Both Edward and Faye have published books featuring local participants in the Civil War.
The Honey Brook Historical Society will meet for tea on June 24, at noon at the Cherished Pearl Bed and Breakfast, 770 Chestnut St., Honey Brook. There will be a fee for the program. More information will be provided at a later date.
On July 29, representatives from the Chester County Historical Society will present a slideshow at 7 p.m. On Aug. 26, family stories and pictures will be shared by the group.
A business meeting will be held on Sept. 30. The group will elect its first officers to serve for the coming year. Currently, members are planning a bus trip to the Harrisburg State Museum for the October meeting.
The Honey Brook Historical Society is always open to new members and new ideas. The group is currently working to gather items to be displayed in a permanent collection. The collection will be available to the public in Honey Brook.
