Children Donate To Help A Child

The children of St. Peter's Pikeland United Church of Christ, Chester Springs, donated their church offerings so a child could attend a full week of YMCA Adventure Rangers day camp during the summer. Pastor Susan Hanson explained that the children who attend Sunday school at the church are directly involved in St. Peter's missions.

The children recently discussed how their Sunday offerings should be used. Many of the children have attended a YMCA camp and felt that using the funds to help a child who might otherwise be unable to attend camp was a good idea. While accepting the $250 check from the children, Jackie Fenn, executive director of the Lionville Community YMCA, praised their generosity and thoughtfulness.

The Lionville community YMCA provides a wide range of programs and services for all ages, including preschool and programs for school-age children, teens, adults, and seniors. The mission of the YMCA is to provide membership and programs to everyone regardless of ability to pay. Financial assistance is made possible through an annual support campaign, special events, and donations from individuals and groups.
