County Slates Blood Drives

The American Red Cross Blood Services will host blood drives in Chester County to ensure the area has enough blood in supply. The West Chester Community Donor Center in the Gay Street Plaza, 523 E. Gay St., West Chester, will accept blood during its donation hours. The hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. To make an appointment at a blood drive or the donor center, readers may call (800) 448-3543 or visit www.pleasegiveblood.org.

Two blood drives will be open to the public. On Thursday, May 8, blood will be accepted from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the gym at Penn Wood Elementary School, 1470 Johnny’s Way, West Chester. The Thorndale United Methodist Church, 3503 E. Lincoln Highway, Thorndale, will also host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.
